Welcome to St Simon Zelotes, Upper Chelsea

St Simon’s is a parish in the Kensington Episcopal Area and is part of the Diocese of London, itself part of the Church of England. It is located at Milner Street, Chelsea, London SW3 2QF and our parish is part of the United Benefice of St Simon’s and St Saviour’s.

Our Parish Office address is St Saviour’s Church, Walton Place, London SW3 1SA. Telephone 020 7823 8979, info@stsimonzelotes.com

Our services follow the Book of Common Prayer and have done so since our founding in 1859, when we were consecrated to cater for the growing population of Chelsea. Our Bible readings are usually from the Authorised Version.

We hope you enjoy our website and that you will come back and visit us regularly. If you are looking for a small, friendly church in west London that follows traditional liturgy, we welcome you to join us for one of our services.

Worship at St Simon’s follows a traditional pattern but we endeavour to make it a memorable experience. Although we draw our strength and inspiration from the past, we look to the future with boldness and confidence. Because of the importance we give to music and liturgy, our congregation come to us from many parts of west and south London.

The Book of Common Prayer, 1662, and the Authorised Version of the Holy Bible are the central pillars of our worship and form the basis for all our services. We give great importance to music in the liturgy, with a dedicated Director of Music and a professional choir at all Morning Services and a chorister at Evening Service. The sacred music covers a wide repertoire and embraces both early and modern works. The quality of sound in the church is excellent.

We are a welcoming church, with a friendly character. The bonds of friendship are strengthened by a Parish Party held after Holy Communion once a month and by an active social programme.

We are also outward looking and support the Happy Home, an orphanage in Southern India, where we have individual personal links with each child.
